Designed to disperse weight properly, ERGObaby is more comfortable for both of you! Infants are cradled with both legs to the side and can be seated in a variety of positions as they grow. Why it's a giggle pick: This carrier is a great value because you can use it longer: from birth with the infant insert and up to 40 pounds as a hip carrier. Who it's perfect for: Parents who want a multi-stage carrier with ergonomic design that won't be outgrown as quickly. Click here for more product details .
I was hesitant at first to purchase it due to the price. It is worth every penny. -doesn't hurt my back (son is now 20lbs and still carry him for hours) -easy to clean -son falls asleep instantly everytime! -love that you can use 3 carry styles: hip, back, and front - although i find the hip is not as comfortable as the other 2. This is the only carrier you need.

Wonderful Carrier
The Ergo has been wonderful from day one. With the infant insert it comfortably carried my baby until he was old enough to comfortably face me in the carrier. I tucked his legs up into a little frog position and faced him forward before he could have his legs out either side of the carrier and it worked well. This beats any of the carriers where the child is facing off the front - tried a loaner like that and it was awful...seems terribly uncomfy for baby and mom especially. Though my son is very curious, he has never known what it's like to face forward so he is fine facing towards the side. I recommend this carrier to all of my friends. I use it constantly.
The Ergo works well with regard to baby's & toddlers weight distribution (better than other popular brands). I've used it while not pregant and up to 6 months pregnant in the front position and would recommend it. I have not mastered using it in the back position without assistance because I prefer my daughter in front. I didn't use this until my first daughter was 6 months, but look forward to using it with my newborn and for breastfeeding as many of my friends have done the same.
I have both a Baby Bjorn and an Ergobaby, and, by far, I've noticed less pressure on my back when using the Ergobaby. Admittedly, I find the Bjorn a bit easier to get on and off, but if you're planning to do a lot of walking, bending and lifting, you'll be better served with the Ergobaby. Household chores are definitely easier to accomplish with the Ergobaby!
This is the first baby carrier I can actually keep on longer then 20 minutes. My 3rd child and I finally found a carrier that doesn't put all the weight on my neck. The low waist strap on ERGObaby is amazing really works to distribute the weight. I can even pick up my 2 year old while my 2 month old is in the carrier.... not that I wish to do that! But if you have a toddler you know they can be demanding so having the ERGO has really helped me get around easier w/not only my baby but my toddler too and be more comfortable do it!

LOVE THIS PRODUCT!
LOVE THIS PRODUCT... it has been great for everything, including 6 mile hikes (while pregnant- 5 months) in Utah, to airport security, (sometimes they don't even ask you to take it off), to treking around SF.... The head strap is great esp when they fall asleep and don't keep their head on your back. Still using it with my almost 2 year old.

Can't Live Without It
One of the best products I own! I can wear this for hours and it doesn't bother me. I have a 2.5 month old and have been using this since about 6 weeks and did not use the infant insert. I just put her in the front with her legs lotus-style. She always falls asleep and stays asleep, as long as I'm moving. I just tried breastfeeding while wearing this and walking and it was so easy! It was great not having to stop and sit for 20 minutes. I recommend this to everyone, especially people who live in a big city or walk a lot.

Wonderful for navigating public transportation!
I LOVE my ergo. I took away a star only because the infant insert was impossible to use. When my son was only a couple of months old, I put him in facing me and many moms would stop me and ask me how I was able to do it. I would just tuck his legs in and he would just sleep away. I used the Bjorn for my daughter when she was a baby and really disliked it and ended up giving it away. My son is one now and I still use the ergo regularly. Totally worth the money. If it's on a new mom's registry, it's always the first thing I buy.

Great for city living!
Getting around in a big city can be a chore with children. However, the Ergo Baby Carrier really makes things easier. My baby loves being held close to me, with her head against my chest so this gives her the comfort she's looking for and the independence I need! I can actually take the bus with the Ergo Carrier. Also, the Ergo Baby Carrier has a wind fly. You have the option to pull a little fly over baby's head and snap it over your shoulder. My daughter loves feeling cozy and warm while we're on the go!
However, just and FYI, you cannot place your baby facing out.

Really comfortable carrier.
Once your baby has outgrown the Bjorn this carrier is great. Never used it on a tiny baby so I can't comment on that but once they get bigger I put them in it and love it. It doesn't take long to figure out how to use it either and it can go on your front or back. Their weight goes on your hips not your shoulders.
This baby is the cream of the crop when it comes to baby carries in my opinion. When I first got pregnant almost 3 years ago, I was all set to be a super babywearing mama. After I had V though it was a totally different story; The sling hurt my shoulder, my bjorn was too stiff & the mei tai was just too much for me to handle. With the Ergo Baby carrier however, I had nothing to complain about (and neither did my daughter).
ERGOBaby is a family owned & operated company located on Maui, Hawaii. Karin Frost designed the carrier in 2001 after her son was born & she is always researching and working hard to expand the ERGObaby product line. For these carries to become as popular as they have in such a short amount of time, you know it’s a quality item. The ERGO comes in all sorts of great colors and prints and even has a handful of organic options.
The ERGObaby carrier is an ergonomic soft shell carrier that’s made with 100% cotton, it’s similar in ways to the bjorn but much more streamlined & a snap, literally, to use. It has padded shoulder straps that are fully adjustable as is the waist belt and can suit people almost any shape or size. The buckles are strong & sturdy on the ERGO, reinforced with stitching and safety webbing, giving it the ability to hold almost 90 pounds. My favorite parts of the ERGO are the zip pocket & the hood. If V falls asleep I don’t have to worry about her being protected from the elements and the zip pocket allows me to always have an easy place for my keys & wallet (and the pacifier of course).
You can do a side, back & hip carry with the ERGO, they are all pretty simple and instructional videos are available on the website. Also available is an infant insert so you can start using your ERGO even earlier! My daughter is 2.5 now and she still loves to be in the ERGO. She loves when my husband carries her on his back & she gets to be “Papa’s Backpack’. We use this for quick errands to long treks, it’s especially handy in the winter when driving just isn’t an option and you NEED to get down the street to pick up that pizza. ;) This is, hands down, my favorite carrier that I’ve ever owned and I’m looking forward to using it when #2 arrives in October!
I picked the Ergo over other carriers b/c I liked that the baby faced me all the time and it could be used as a front, side and back carrier. I think I like the side option best. Very comfortable to wear, easy to get the baby into and I felt pretty confident about going hands-free. As it is soft, it's very easy to toss into a stroller to have "just in case" or bring to a stadium or crowded event.

Arms Free
These carriers are great. I used mine constantly instead of lugging around a stroller. I live in a city, where you can walk to many things or take public transportation, and these are great for shorter trips. Many times, my baby stayed asleep against me. I will definitely be using this for my next child, as it is sturdy and has held up very well. I just wish it were slightly less bulky for when you are not wearing it, but need it along with you, but I suppose then it wouldn't be so sturdy.
We were lucky enough to be one of the last one's in our group of friends to have a baby so we got endless suggestions, reviews and advice on which products were a must have. The Ergo was by far the most talked about and enjoyed carrier out there. And regardless of the persons height or body type, we never heard one bad review. Our daughter is now 8 months old and 18 pounds and she loves being in the ergo and I love that I can wear her on a 2 hour hike and not regret it later. I also love that we will be able to use it for years to come so it is worth every penny!

Saved my back!
I only purchased the Ergo after moving to NYC and finding that carrying my son was a lot easier on the subway than battling with a stroller. My previous carrier was great, but not for my back. When I carry my now 20 pound son in the Ergo, it is like I am not carrying a baby at all!! My back is so thankful!
One down-side is that my son has to face inwards, and he missed watching everyone go by. Usually he is twisted around in an attempt to see where we are going. I have not yet tried wearing him on my side. My husband has worn him on his back with the Ergo and our son loved this!
We love our Ergo. We bought a fabric sling to begin with but it was so cumbersome to put on. I wish we had had the Ergo from the start.
Both myself (5'2") and my husband (6'1") can both wear the ergo and Olive, now 11 months is happy and comfortable. She can sleep or just hang out and enjoy the scenery.
Best money spent of all baby products, hands down!
I bought the Ergo when my oldest son was about 9 months old, and once I mastered the technique of getting him on my back, it was the most invaluable piece of baby gear I ever bought. I found complete freedom with my arms and my back didn't hurt as it did with any sort of front or pouch carry. I could wear him for hours! When I had my second child (16 months apart), I often had to wear one child on my back and carry the other in my arms - I really don't know how I would have managed without the Ergo in some situations - it was a lifesaver. I used it until my second child was between 2.5 and 3 years old - a LONG time!
I am now expecting my third child and know that the Ergo will be one of my essentials and am glad I hung onto it.
My only negative feedback about the Ergo is that the newborn infant insert was not an ideal solution. I think I will use a pouch or sling until the baby has neck control (about 4 months) and then start using the Ergo again.
I love my Ergo! Even my husband uses it. It is the most comfortable carrier I've used so far. Don't waste your money on anything else. This is the carrier to get!!

Great for heavy babies!
I have a above average baby. As a school of attachment parenting, I carry my baby a lot. Because of this, my child, now 5 months craves the feel of being held. He initially hated the ergo pre 15 lbs. There was no way he would be in the carrier with the infant insert. But somehow, after he got older, he loves it. I love it. My care provider loves it. My back loves it. People may choose another carrier because it doesn't face forward but my inquisitive child can see the world from the side view just fine. I like how his weight it distributed around and how easy it is to put him down when he is asleep. He never wakes up. Love love the ergo.
I love this carrier! It is easy to put on and get baby in and out of. I can get him in easy when I am by myself. It is very comfortable and doesn't hurt my back. My husband even loves wearing it and it keeps our baby calm and comfy. He loves it.
