I make Leighton's food using the Beaba Babycook. I know what you're thinking ... What a pain! I'll stick with jars. However, our pediatrician told us that she should eat as much table food as possible. So, my kid eats delicious dish made from scratch. Why should Lei eat bland, boiled meat in a jar?
The Beaba Babycook is a well-crafted appliance, spare in size, that steams and blends foods for your babe. With an all-in-one gadget like this, there's no need to make a huge mess. You can either make an event of making these meals, or toss in some of what you're having for a particular meal and freeze the rest for later. The Babycook makes it so simple, it's a meal time staple for me.
Her meals taste like real food (hmmm curious) and sometimes it's hard for me not to oversample her dish while I feed her. Buy it! You'll love it.

Cook in one place using little space!
We finally gave into purchasing the Beaba Babycook after getting tired of all the steps to get the same thing done with our existing cookware and food processor. Not only can the Babycook tackle everything in one machine -- the steam water is reclaimed to be the base of the puree.
As baby gets bigger, you can literally prep small portions of what you are making for the family in a consistency appropriate for baby!
even if you're not gourmet with your meals, this makes it so easy to prepare fresh, healthy meals for your child. and it's more tailored to feeding a baby than a regular blender. definitely worth the money.

Never thought I'd buy this....
I never thought I'd buy this because it seemed like an unnecessary expenditure. I already have a steamer and a small food prep food processor. I even simplified my home steaming by using a small pot, a sieve with a handle, and put a lid over it (for when I'm only steaming small portions). But I found I could make a pretty big mess of dirty dishes just for my son's dinner... and then I had to make my own dinner later. When my son turned 12 months I finally bought this item and only wish I had purchased it sooner! It is the best baby item I have so far. Everything can be cooked or reheated in this item, and you can chop up what you cook easily in the same container, so less mess. I even had it reheat a frozen meatball the other night, then chop it up a little. Honestly, this item is awesome, even if you don't think you'll be making your own baby food, it is so EASY to do so. I can't live without this item now. I even use it for my own meals. And for those of you in tight spaces, it doesn't take up much room. Lastly, it's a no brainer -- you just dump what you want to cook into the basket, add the required water, and turn the switch.
My baby is now on baby food and we wanted to make our own... for nutrition and for cost. I have a streamer and I have a blender... tried first time and the blender just pushed the food to the sides.. I worked and got it done. Then the clean up. Researched BEABA and did it.. WOW... what a breeze. I clean couple carrots.. turn it on and take a shower. Purees fantastic. In less than 20 minutes.. made carrots and extra in trays frozen. I now have a good varitiy in the freezer to be used as needed. Thaws easy and cleaned up FAST. I even made the steamed veggies for dinner for hubby and self...This is small enough to just stay on counter... I would again spend the money for a product you really will use... just do it!
We use our Babycook constantly. It has made making our own baby food a breeze. My husband and I comment everytime we use it how happy we are that we made the decision to buy it. It seemed pricey at first but it has been worth every penny!

Baby Cook is GREAT.
I am not a cook. I love eating fresh food, but just don't have the patience. The Babycook is so simple to use and clean that it makes it too easy to make fresh food for my baby. I don't regret spending the small fortune on it. Just knowing that I am giving my daughter super fresh, nutrient packed organic purees is priceless! How would you feel if all your meals were out of a jar? Yuck.

Great Product
A bit pricey, but super convenient, so I think it is worth the money. I would much rather clean this one appliance than clean a pot, steamer, food processor, etc.
I bought this thinking that it would make my life easier...until I saw it's size. It is convienent if you are making small quantities of food, but it took me over 1 hour to cook & grind 2 sweet potatoes. And the blades only catch what they touch - you have to bring the food from the edges of the bowl towards the blades, so that takes a little extra time. If you are making larger quantities of food (to freeze, perhaps) I suggest cooking it in a pot and using a food processor.
The directions are also non-existant. They are very poor quality. I will be calling the company tomorrow to see if they can answer the questions I have.
If you are making small quantities of food (1 bag of carrots) it only takes about 1/2 hour to cook and grind them. I think it's average because it does it's job, but I don't think it's worth the money.

So great!
My sister in law has the Babycook. She showed me how to use it and what she blends and cooks in it. One it was so easy! Two I loved it so much I put it on my baby registry! Hope I get one cause I can't wait until I get to start making fun baby food combination's!
This product is fantastic! Extremely easy to use and clean. We purchased this when my son was 4 months old, he is now 7 months. We use it once a week to prepare his food for the week. He is now at the age when he can start eating meats. I can just take what we had for dinner steam it and puree it for him to any consistency that I choose. I don't have to spend money on baby food and he is eating much healthier!!
I love love love the beaba babycook. I knew I wanted to make homemade meals for my son before I knew he was a boy, but I had no idea I could steam and puree his food in one easy piece of equipment. It takes a little getting used to in order to figure out how much water is needed for recipes not in the booklet, but once you get it, you're golden. Only once has my boy had a jarred food, and I tasted it myself and nearly gagged. Compared to the fresh steamed peas I'm used to giving him, the jarred kind (even organic) were awful. Two things to note, the steamer doesn't turn off itself, and the plastic splashguard for pureeing shouldn't be used when steaming. I made that mistake once & it hasn't been the same since. Oh well!
Great product! Makes cooking your own baby food so easy...you control what you want him/her to eat! Easy to do the fruits and veggies of course, but the machine is also strong enough to whip up chicken and fish (just cook it first in the oven or skillet). So much healthier for our little girl, and fun for mom to use too!

So Easy and Simple for the Busy Parent!
I just loved the idea of making organic, fresh food for my baby, so I was looking forward to trying the Babycook. Well, I just love using it. It is so easy to use and clean. I like that it doesn't have too many parts. You can even control how smooth or chunky you want the food by pureeing more or less. It is kind of pricey but it is so well worth it if you plan on making your baby the healthiest food. My only complaint is that it is kind of loud.
This product is great! It is easy to use and you know exactly what your little one is eating. Once you have this product your baby's palate is no longer limited to what you can find in the baby aisle. I was surprised at how well this product worked.

one stop shop
This is a great item if you want to prepare your own baby food. In one container, you steam and process. For the super time crunched this is great. You dont need to boil water and then clean a pot. You just prep the food, pour the water into the machine, press a button and you're done. It's very easy to clean as well. My only complaint is that I wish it made more food at once, the container ends up making 6-8 servings and sometimes I'd rather make more in one sitting. But all in all, I'd recommend it.
As a working parent, I never thought I would have time to make my own baby food. I probably never would have if it weren't for the Beaba Babycook. It is functionally compact, meaning you use the same bowls for cooking and pureeing, so there are only 2 small bowls (and a couple of lids) to put in the dishwasher at the end of the cooking session.
I can use it any time during the day, whether the baby is sleeping or not. With the help of the babycook, I have filled my freezer with a variety of fruits and vegetables that have only the ingredients I choose. I am sure this is why my son is such a good veggie eater!
Everyone seems to agree this is a good product... here is why: I have the big Cuisinart food processor, and 2 small ones. I received a food mill and another food processor for baby shower gifts. When I received this, I was like, "enough already!!" But... I use it nearly every day and here is why:
While is it not good at larger batches... it is VERY good at making sure the batch that fits in it is pureed consistently (no big chunks). The good thing about this product is that you steam in it then puree - only one thing to clean. This keeps the mess down and the clean up quick.
It's very good with very small batches of whatever you want to try, so for first foods, it's perfect - you can just put a little in there, enough to try a few times, and it will puree it up perfectly.
No, it's not necessary.. but it certainly is a big help. You can't put your food on the stove, and walk away and come back an hour later and find it perfectly cooked and turned off and just waiting for you to puree. With this thing you can. the timer goes off, and your food waits for you to puree it. And when you have a baby to attend to, that's a big help at times!

a joy to use!
I knew from the start that I would be making my own baby food and boy am I glad that I received this as a gift. This little gizmo is so cute to look, it's inspirational! Don't let its daintiness fool you though, it is also powerful, convenient and a breeze to use and clean (even manually). Yesterday, I made 3 different veggies, as well as rice porridge to last 2 weeks in 3 hours. The little man has been spoiled with momma's creations that I'm not sure he'll ever take to jarred mush.
