When it comes to car seat safety, proper installation is the most important factor, and the Chicco KeyFit 30 makes it easy to get it right every time. You'll also get a little extra life out of this car seat, since it's made to accommodate infants up to 30 pounds. Why it's a giggle pick: It's super easy to install, with a level foot, centralized LATCH adjuster, and 2 bubble level indicators. (Even if you don't know what all those features mean, trust us -- you'll appreciate them!) Who it's perfect for: Parents who don't want to give safety or proper installation a second thought; also: parents whose infants are bigger than average. Click here for more product details .
I love this infant seat and did a LOT of research to decide on this particular one. It got great safety reviews and great reviews from users. Everyone I have met that has this seat loves it too. My daughter is almost 17 months now, and has long outgrown it, but I used it for her from birth to a little over 12 months. However, she is VERY tall (97th%) so she probably outgrew it faster than most. I think it works up to 30" ht. and 30 lbs. I thought it was very easy to install with the latch system as well as with just a seatbelt. It is also very easy to click the infant carrier in and out. The fabric is soft but sturdy. The infant pillow by the head is great to keep baby's head from lolling around too much, and when they get bigger you just take it out. GREAT seat. Although I have not tried any others, I have no complaints about this one. I have inspected the Graco seats, which also get great safetly reviews, but I thought they felt a little bit flimsy compared to this one.
! My 2 week old son has been in the car several times already, and I am never nervous that he is unsafe or that his head is moving around too much- in fact at 7lbs he fit snugly in the seat without any extra supports. It is easy to carry & snap in (you have to hear the 2 clicks), and, even though its positioned in the middle seat of my SUV, is surprisingly easy for me (5'3") to maneuver. Compared to my best friend's Graco Snug Ride Platinum (which had to be assembled, and the sun shade is already falling apart at 3mos), this seat is super high quality, and simply rocks!!!
This car seat has worked out great for us. Despite feeling completely incompetent when installing the base for the first time, when we had it checked out by a certified car seat inspector, we had actually installed it correctly! The seat snaps into the base with loud, reassuring 'clicks' that let you know its in there correctly. We use the adapter with our Uppababy Vista stroller and its easy as pie. Overall very happy with this purchase.
Sidebar note: I highly recommend getting your seat checked by a certified car seat inspector, they check the seat installation and they tutor you on strapping your baby in, which we really needed.
We have had no complaints with this carseat, my daughter was very comfortable and snug with the infant inserts.

Very easy to change out between vehicles
This car seat is so simple to switch between vehicles my husband did not believe that it was installed correctly! We have used it in a crew cab truck and a Outback and it worked well in both spaces, though it takes a lot of space, especially when rear-facing. My only complaint is that the handle does not turn out 90 degrees from the seat, so that you can carry the seat in a more comfortable arm position.
the chicco key fit is so easy to use! and to easily know that it is installed correctly gives me the greatest peace of mind. i would highly recommend this car seat!
loved this car seat. very good safety ratings, super easy to use. comfortable for baby and easy for mom to carry around. only negative is that it does not clip into the top of grocery carts but must be placed in the basket. this was not a big deal for me but may bother some.
I wanted to share this story with all the new mothers out there... My husband and I were just in an infant CPR class last week. The firefighter instructor was going over some basic car seat safety before getting into the CPR portion of the night. He went around asking what kind of car seats everyone had. When we told him ours was the Chicco KeyFit 30 his eyes lit up and said that is the one he recommends whenever he is asked advice. It is the safest, easiest to install and use, and told us there wasn't a better one on the market! Nevertheless, we feel great about this purchase!

Firefigher says the easiest to install!
We just had our Chicco KeyFit 30 car seat inspected by a firefighter. He said during the course of his training he had to install 150+ car seats and this one was the easiest!
This car seat is rear-facing only and can be installed in the middle or to the side in the back seat, with or without the base. Use with LATCH and tether system or just with the seat belt.
We compared this seat side by side to a Graco and noticed the difference in quality straight-away. The base is enclosed underneath, instead of open and jaggedy, and the plastic has a smooth finish.

Love it but a bit hot.
We love this carseat. It comes in fun colors and works great. The only problem we had was that our son got really hot in it. But other than that we loved how safe it was and that you could get extra bases for it. It wasn't too heavy either. It's a great seat. It was super easy to install also. I would recommend it!
This carseat is easy to install in the car. Also very easy to snap in and out of base. So far it is pretty light weight to carry, but my baby is only 9 lbs. The 5 pt. harness buckles and unbuckles with ease, but it took a few times for me to figure out and use it with confidence. My only complaint so far is that the canopy is way too small. We use the car seat with the Uppa Baby stroller's carseat adapter and I wish the carseat's canopy was bigger when we are walking. It provides no shade from the sun at all.

Super car seat!
I love this seat! It is an all around winner in my book. I have installed it with the base and without, and it was really easy and fast to get a solid install both ways.
The newborn insert works really well to keep a tiny one snug and it is still nicely padded without it.
