Simply did not work for me.
I am truly surprised that all the reviews were so positive. My baby was a MAMA centric newborn. The chair did not occupy her for long, at most 10 minutes and if I was "too far" (we live in Brooklyn so I mean like 5 feet or more away) she would start crying sooner. I think it is great for parents that could make it work, but before spending so much money, I would wait until the baby is a few weeks old, and if she/he cries with anyone but mama, hates being put down, hates sleeping in crib and must sleep in your arms or in your bed (get the idea?), don't waste your money.

Useful and sleek
We purchased the Mamaroo bouncer after seeing it at a friends' house. Their newborn was quietly and contently rocking in it during an entire dinner party and we were amazed. Our son loved the Mamaroo from day one and we still put him in it at 7 months. It has a comfortable, ergo-dynamic shape and has several rocking options which rapidity can be increased or decreased. It also includes a button for soothing natural musical sounds (i.e. rainforest, chimes, wind, ect...), although we rarely used that feature. We highly recommend the Mamaroo not only for its sleek modern look (it actually looks like a piece of design furniture in our living room!) but also for its utility and versatility. As an aside, everyone who came to visit the baby marvelled not only at him but also at the Mamaroo! People always comment on how cool it looks, in addition to being incredibly useful (other than his stroller, it was the only thing we sat our son in for the first 6 months).
